NAS 100 Year Reunion Celebration

MSCC Corvettes at the Naval Air Station Pensacola 100th Reunion at Seville Quarter

The MSCC was invited to display their Vettes during “The NASP 100th Reunion” event at Seville Quarter on Friday, August 22.  The group’s rendezvous was at the Gulf Power HQ but not without first running a gauntlet of Gulf Power Security personnel.  However, not a problem as some of the early MSCC arrivals “schmoozed” over the guards with their “smooth talkin’ (you can likely guess the MSCC “smooth talkers”)!  As soon as our Caravan arrived at Seville Quarter, the location was blocked off and 10 Corvettes (5 of the 7 Generations were in attendance) went on display, along with a small contingent of British cars (FYI, the Porsches were “no shows”) – our cars intrigued the large crowd of attendees!  And, the Vettes took “front and center” for the car display – angled into the sun and backed into the parking spots that enhanced the beauty of our USA produced machines!  The MSCC Vette owners responded to many questions from the crowd about their cars, made some new friends, and created enough interest for several prospective new MSCC members!!  YES, it was HOT, HOT, HOT – but FUN, FUN, FUN…a good time was had by all.  And, to close out the show, one of our C-1s, along with several MSCC members performed a “hands-on” maneuver to demonstrate how easy it is to push-start a First Generation Corvette – don’t cha’ just love it!!
